What a heck has Lean Manufacturing to do with Juggling?

Lean manufacturing is applied to corporate environments and is about continuous improvement, finding and eliminating waste! Waiting, Movement, Transportation, Overproduction, Stock, …. . Lean can be implemented by use of one-piece-flow, pull, takt-time and other tools and principles. The objective is to make more with less, reducing waste.

well, Juggling is about throwing things in the air and catching them again, keeping a continuous pattern where synchronization is crucial. Where persistence and self improvement is essential. Where the openness to try new ways must exist. Where the waiting time is limited by gravity, where the movement need to be trained and the objects transported in efficient ways. Where the one-piece-flow is the easiest pattern and where only the takt-time is able to ensure continuity.

After all, there are quite a few things Juggling and Lean have in common.
